Hey, love the fact that you've resurrected this dead project.

If you need any help in testing αlpha / βeta releases, let me know....

Thanks jonlgalt.

I expect α2 (love the fact you used the actual chars for α/β) to be release next week. I'm still testing out the behavior of making the application available as a default browser and also becoming the default browser.

Once I'm satisfied with that, be my guest. I'm sure I've missing something somewhere.

The biggest complexity is the major changes Between WinXP and Win7 and then again with Win8+ in terms of how you do the above. In Win8, you can't arbitrarily become default while XP is fairly loose.

Understood. Looking forward to it.

One of hte extreme benefits of using BC thus far has been the fact that it captures URLs that are automatically launched at the end of installers, like with IrfanView, JAVA, etc - URLs that I prefer not to view b/c I have no need to view them.

The other not so obvious benefit is that I can redirect URLs to particular browsers (mainly for testing purposes, as I am always using α / β versions of browsers, like Chrome Canary and Chrome dev-m channels, Opera Next, and Firefox Nightly builds.

I ran into a few errors with this build, but I'll wait until the new build it out so that I can verify if they are still occurring or not before making a report.

This happens both when I start BC α2 manually or when I have it set as default and load a URL.

BTW, this is a newly formatted system.

I have the following .NET installs:
<32Bit>
2.0.50727.5477
  ->C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727
4.0.30319.18444
  ->C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319

<64Bit>
2.0.50727.5477
  ->C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727
4.0.30319.18444
  ->C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319

< Installed .NET Frameworks >
.NET FW 2.0 SP 2
.NET FW 3.0 SP 2
.NET FW 3.5 SP 1
.NET FW 4.5 Client
.NET FW 4.5 Full
Checking to make sure I have VCredists installed now.

EDIT: Updated VC Redists as well, still getting the error.

From all that I got: System.UriFormatException -> the URL your are passing to BC2 is causing the error. If you can, could you please provide me with the URL that causes the problem?

Bwahahaa.

www.cnn.com :P

Upon rebooting today, it seems to play a little more nicely. However, this error still occurs if I run the executable directly (without passing a URL to it).

The signature this time is:

I next plan to test how well it works with 32bit versus 64 bit browser builds. The Old BC did not like 64bit browsers at all, not even with fully qualified path (I suspect it had more to do with the code and installation location of BC than anything, but even trying symbolic links / junctions did not solve the problem).

It loads x64 browsers just as easily as x86 browsers, so for that I am truly thankful.

So, sorry to bug you, yet again, but any idea when the next test build will be ready for testing?
